One more idea for you is to visit our sister site, eldercareabc.com and pose a question to one of our experts there: http://eldercareabc.com/ask-experts

Still drives within a 3-4 mile radius of home, mostly to the grocery store, almost every day.. Not at night anymore. Mom's been gone 7 years. He is still in the home they lived in for 35years. He does his oen wash, cooks, takes care of himself very well. He has the maid come in to do the major cleaning. We have family nearby . My brother is here and my nephew, we pick Dad up and take him to dinner regularly. Life is pretty good for for him. But most of time he's by himself. We want to move into a beautiful Independent Care Facility nearby. He'd be around people. Eat three proper meals a day and maybe have some fun. He's doesnt want to leave his memories. We have told him he can take what ever he wants with him. That Mom will be ith him where ever he goes. He has said yes twice then changed his mind the next day.
